Pure classics :). I'm always on the hunt for great children's books and have recently discovered Bayard and their series of StoryBoxBooks, AdventureBoxBooks and DiscoveryBoxBooks. In addition to this, they also have some great activities. There's a Readathon happening in the Ireland region - http://discoveryboxbooks.com/readathon.php and a Ghost Drawing competition in AdventureBoxBooks assiciated with the Polka Theatre (http://www.adventureboxbooks.com/competition.php)

I have had kid's asking in the Library "When, when are the games coming, when are the computers getting set up"

You may have noticed (if u have come in) that i have rearranged the whole children and youth section and had a computer desk installed - I am waiting now for IT to set up the computers. It will be done soon, but like evrything there is a list of jobs to be done, and we are on the list!

BTW : have you noticed that I have also managed to squeeze in three more shelves for our youth Graphic novel collection!!... mmmwwwahaha...graphic novels will soon take over the library!

I saw the film today with my teenage son. I loved it and he found it wanting in so many ways. It is at least 6 years since I read Northern Lights and I think this distance let me enjoy the film, not the film-of-the-book. We both agreed that they did a great job with the bears, their armour and the bear fight. Ian McKellen as the voice of Iorek Byrnison was so right. In fact I thought all the main players were excellent and very true to Pullman's characters.
